For over 25 years, Mr. McKenna has been a licensed attorney in the State of California practicing law in Chico. In this capacity, Mr. McKenna counsels, represents, and litigates on behalf of his clients in both state and federal court actions. During this time he has litigated cases in many Northern California counties and has been the lead litigation attorney in jury trials in Butte, Shasta, Glenn, and Tehama County. Included in these have been lengthy, complex, multi-party jury trials.

Mr. McKenna is a graduate of the University of San Francisco School of Law and a senior partner at Peters, Habib, McKenna, Juhl-Rhodes & Cardoza, LLP. Mr. McKenna is also a graduate of California State University, Chico.

Mr. McKenna joined Peters, Habib, McKenna, Juhl-Rhodes & Cardoza, LLP in 1995, and became a partner in 1997. Since then his practice has involved civil litigation matters with an emphasis on public entity liability, public utility liability, governmental tort claims, premises liability, personal injury, agriculture law, employment law, and class actions. His litigation work has included several jury trials, court trials, binding arbitrations, over 150 mediations, and countless depositions. Mr. McKenna has represented and advised clients in matters involving class-action lawsuits, premises liability, restaurant/bar liability, construction defect claims, dangerous condition of public roadways, insurance agency liability, automobile dealer liability, automobile lender, agriculture and serious crop loss, roadway design, law enforcement liability, and fire cases involving public utilities, and mobile home law, among many others. Mr. McKenna has represented public utilities, public railways, automobile dealerships, automobile lenders, restaurants, bars, insurance agents, and corporate and family farms. His public entity work has included representing the City of Chico, Town of Paradise, City of Oroville, Plumas County, and the California Department of Transportation.

Mr. McKenna is an active volunteer involved in community service, having served as a manager and coach in local little league for the past eight (8) years. For the past four (4) years he has served as a supervising attorney for the Community Legal Information Center (CLIC) which is a non-profit organization that provides free legal information to individuals in need. Mr. McKenna, and Peters, Habib, McKenna, Juhl-Rhodes & Cardoza, LLP, are also proud members of the Downtown Chico Business Association (DCBA).

Mr. McKenna is a longtime resident of Butte County and a strong believer in the history, character, and future of the City of Chico.
