Chance M. Hansen
Chance M. Hansen joined Peters, Habib, McKenna, Juhl-Rhodes & Cardoza, LLP in 2018 after graduating from Cal Northern School of Law. A native of Glenn County, Mr. Hansen’s practice focuses on civil and trust litigation, personal injury, and criminal defense. In his work for the firm, Mr. Hansen has represented clients in administrative hearings, mediations, jury trials, and appeals, and represented California and out-of-state corporations.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Hansen worked as a law clerk for Anthony R. Cardoza, and later for Peters, Habib, McKenna, Juhl-Rhodes & Cardoza, LLP. Before law school, Mr. Hansen interned for three (3) years at the Community Legal Information Clinic in Chico, assisting indigent members of the community with their legal issues. He also worked as a Legal Research Assistant at the Butte County Jail, assisting inmates with legal research regarding their criminal, family, and civil matters.
Mr. Hansen is a Professor of Legal Research at Cal Northern School of Law, and teaches seminars on effective legal research techniques. Experienced in legal research, Mr. Hansen seeks to find answers to the legal and factual questions presented in client matters in order to effectively advocate for his clients in court. Mr. Hansen has served as the President of the Butte County Bar Association since 2022, and served previously as the organization’s Secretary and Treasurer from 2020-2021. Mr. Hansen also serves as a Trustee of the Butte County Public Law Library since being designated by a Butte County Superior Court judge in 2022.
